They were thrilled when they arrived at pokai to find Kala RH76. They haven't seen her lately and this makes them worry. They were happy to see she is fine and was resting on the rocks. There were people out and about, but no one bothered her while they were there.
They stuck around for a bit to see if any other seals would show up. No other seals came and it appears the school of fish is gone too.
Next Team R&B made their way to yoks. The area was closed due tothe big surf. They took a chance and made the long walk out. They were happy they did, as they found a young male seal, no tags and a scar on the neck/chest area. There was also a scar on left shoulder area, under belly was a cc scar. They had no idea who this little one was. After checking in with the posse it was determined this male is R420 Kaipo. He is a sweet cutie pie.
Then Team R&B spotted another seal. There was movement in the water and this turned out to be RG28 Lefty. He galumphed up on shore, head up high looking at R420 who was snoozing in his spot. As RG28 made his way up, R420 galumphed towards him They met, very gentle, very sweet nose nuzzles. Sniffing each other out, then RG28 barked telling the kid to move, which he did about 10 feet away. The two of them went into snooze mode.
RG28 appears to be 50% molted, head looking clean, belly clean, seems the swim did him good.
