November 30, 2024 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:44 to 2:32 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Near 1BS were two seals:
Juvenile Female: juvenile size, newer coat, very light gray female belly and two red tags. At 1:57 pm Marilyn realized the J/F had left the 1BS and hauled out at SRI at 2:04 pm.
Adult Male 1: adult size, old coat, dark male belly and at least one red tag.
Between 3BS and SRI were initially three seals:
Adult Male 2: adult size, old brown coat, brown male belly and at least one red tag. It appeared that this seal may have been discharging tape worms. Also the LFF seems to have a cleft between the second and third digits.
A short distance toward SRI were two seals:
Adult Female: large adult size, tan to brown female belly, and two red tags. She seems fairly robust.
RK24 Bruno: adult size, newer coat, medium gray male belly, scar on lower lip and line scar on right side of chest. At 2:04 pm, the J/F galumphed out of SRI nearby to RK24.

Team R&B spent the entire day looking for seals. In their search they spotted a Bristle Thigh Curlew flying off of Pokai. They noted they don't see these birds like before, so it was a special treat.
They spotted dolphins, which was nice to watch until a jet ski flew by.
After searching all day they only found one seal.
The waves were huge again, some so big they crossed over the roads in Makaha. Yoks was closed up again, but they were able to ask the lifeguard if they could just check on the seals. It took some convincing but finally let them go. There were no seals just foot prints, quad trails and debris.
