04/24/2022 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕  ** Update** yesterday's unknown male seen by Justin was ID'd as Kekoa Alii RK72.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:20 - 2:20 and there were three seals on island today.
Alone near 1BS was a S/F: subadult size, yellowish female belly, and possibly two tags. She moved and rolled a few times.
Not far apart about 40 feet Lanikai side of the 3BS were:
RK37 Hui'a: subadult size, yellowish green female belly, two red tags and nb on her left lower side. Marilyn saw her NB multiple times so its a definite ID.
Nearby was was A/M: subadult to adult size, mottled gray male belly and unsure about tags. He spent much of his time partially to wholly hidden behind waterfront rocks.

Team R&B's first seal of the day was Nalu R3CX. He was on the rocks alone and is looking fine. There was no blood seen and there was nothing out out of the ordinary.
RG28 Lefty was busy foraging off the rocks. He was doing 7 minute dives and his applied bleach was visible.
Then RL20 Kalua landed without them even seeing him.  Mr. Ayla who was there told them that a seal just hauled out. That's when they saw RL20 settling in for the say on the rocks. He's starting to get really green.

At another west side location they saw a beautiful chubby seal on the sand parch snoozing away. They had to really think about who this was, and then they realized it was RL70 Leina, all grown up.
RM31 Kai was on lower rocks enjoying his sleep time and he was alone.  He was also there late afternoon when they went back to check.

Then Team R&B got a text of three seals on shore at a busy location, so they hurried over. There was RH32 Kaale alone to the left on the beach.  Aukai RL12 was with Kalani RN14 at the Luau side of the cove.
There were signs up but they are the newer/shorter signs that don't deter anyone from walking past let alone tripping over them.

Team R&B left and went to trek Ka'ena West. They took the time to smell some special roses and watched the beautiful waves.
Out at Ka'ena West they only found one seal R407 Kawika. He was on the rocks in a pond alone. Seems RL42 dumped him.

After leaving Ka'ena West they did find RL42 Leia snoozing alone.  She probably needed the rest getting away from Kawika.

They were on the way home when they decided to check one more spot. There on the rocks were two seals. They had to look a little closer to get an ID and there was the handsome L7 kid from Molokai. He was on the rocks basking in the sun.
There was a fat green female and they spotted the gray tags. It was KG89 Huaka'i from Kure.
Nice they decided to make that one more stop.
