Their first priority was to check on Nalu R3CX. They went back to where he had been yesterday and found him in the same area on the rocks. He did move to the next rock. Team R&B first thoughts were "No Blood - He's alert - No Blood". R3CX eventually turned over and still no blood, and they couldn't see anything wrong today. (Which is truly amazing!!!)
They called the hotline and volunteer Emily came. Team R&B spent some time talking about Nalu and no blood.
While on site they spotted an adult foraging doing 6 minute dives. They did get a tag shot and there was Kala RH76, she was filling her belly. Then they saw another smaller seal swim by, heading east. There was no time to get an ID.
Staring out at the ocean and different beach spots they spot another seal. From afar they think it might be Da Benny. Sure enough they made their way to rest camp, and Benny RE74 was on shore snoozing alone. They asked the folks at the camp if they could put out the signs and let them know about Benny.
Team R&B went back to check on Nalu and to see if any other seals were around. And there was Kala RH76 who joined him. She wasn't happy with his advances, she moved over to the pond. Of course Nalu followed her no problem, guess he's feeling just fine.
Volunteer and Team R&B were thrilled to see Nalu being a typical horny male but worried about his making his way over the rocks and hurting himself. But no blood !!! He entered the pond, rolled over and over. They did see his penial area swell up, but there was no blood.
Heading over to another west side location they found two little sealsnoozing together inland. There was RP84 Pe'ekai and RM31 Kai.
Both started stretching about, Kai blocked Pe'ekai in. But Pe'ekai managed to get himself out and into the water. There was some interaction between the two boys. They are sweet together, they played in the shallows like two little kids.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:05 to 12:35 and there were two seals on island.
Both seal were near each other between the 3BS and SRI:
A/M: subadult to adult size, gray male belly and at least one red tag.
S/F: subadult to adult size, yellowish female belly and two red tags.
