Posse Pal Justin saw three seals together today at a secluded east side location. There was RK24 who turns four, identified by his tag K24.
7AF with an applied bleach N2 and tags 7AF/7AG. He is a two year old who was dehooked and released on 2/2/22.
The 3rd seal was an adult male without tags. displaying any identifiable marks or scars.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 10:00 to 11:00 am and there were two seals on island at this time.
On the rock flats Lanaikai side of LPB was an A/M: subadult to adult size, brownish male belly and unsure about tags.
On waterfront rocks between 3BS and SRI there was an U/U: probably subadult size, unsure about belly or tags because the seal never changed its position.
Team R&B began their day with the young male from Molokai L7. He was on the rocks, they were on their way to pick up junior sealette so they didn't stay.
At another west side location they were thrilled to find both boys were together again on the rocks.
There was RP84 Pe'ekai and RM31 Kai still hanging out together. This was junior sealettes' first time meeting the two that she had heard so much about.
They did take it upon themselves to quietly sing Happy Birthday to 2 year old Kai.
Their next stop they found RL20 Kalua on the rocks alone. He was snoozing peacefully. It was good toactually see his face today, compared to yesterday where he was facing the ocean draped over the rocks.
Team R&B along with junior sealette were heading to Ka'ena West when they got a text from Lesley that folks were reporting 6 seals out at Ka'ena West. They were excited and headed off.
They found:
Squinty R330 with Kami RL74 on the rocks both snoozing, it was about noon time.
Next seals were RL42 Leia, trying to get away from R407 Kawika. They were very active moving about. They caught up with Lesley and letting her know they found four seals and who they were.
Even though there weren't 6 seals, they were still pretty happy finding 4.
Lastly they went back to check on Pe'ekai and Kai. The two were still together snoozing on the rocks.
In addition they found Kala RH76 to the right battling the waves coming in. She was looking good and healthy.
