04/02/2022 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕.    I also got an update from posse pal Amy, that male seal she spotted early evening was Kekoa Alii RK72.  I guess she hit the send key before she finished the rest of the story.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 to 1:20 and there were two seals on island today.
Initially the two seals were together on the waterfront rocks not far from SRI.
S/F: subadult size, light yellowish-gray female belly with some green, and two red tags.
RF34 Pua: large adult size, gray female belly, at least one red tag on RRF and scar on rear right side.
Shortly after Marilyn started her observations the S/F moved a short distance away from Pua. Pua eventually moved closer to SRI.

Team R&B first stop was at a west side location and upon arrival RP84 Pe'ekai was just hauling in. He found a safe spot and was settled in for the day.

Next at the outfall they spotted an adult seal swimming/foraging, they ID'd RK72 Kekoa Alii.
Seems he decided to leave the area and headed out to sea, they never saw him again. They waited at the site and checked another spot but came up empty.  They did see lots of snorkelers and a kayak race.

They went back to the west side location to check on Pe'ekai RP84. He was still there and alone, Team R&B were really hoping to see another seal, in fact they really wanted to see their boy Da Benny.
No kidding Benny RE74 actually hauled in and sneezed. Little Pe'ekai noticed him but didn't do anything.  Good ole Benny galumphed all the way in checking on Pe'ekai.  (Funny how wishes can come true)
Da Benny went right to his playboy pond (and he is responsible for this name). He dove in to cool off and there he lay on his side.
Pe'ekai was getting seamped by the high tide, galumphed inland, passing Benny. Benny looked at the kid but stayed in his pond.
Team R&B were thrilled to see Benny as they go back a long way.  As they were watching over the two, a thought came to mind. They are hoping Benny doesn't take Pe'ekai on a journey away from the area. Benny has always showed the youngens where to go.  Lots of memories of him showing Kerby, his way to Ka'ena Point.
