04/27/2022 Wednesday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:55 to 3:05 and there was only one seal on island today.

Alone on LPB was a Subadult Female (S/F): subadult to adult size, yellowish tan female belly with some green. no NB on lower left side, unsure about tags. 

Team R&B stated their day at the bay. When they arrived there was a seal already up on the rocks. It was RM31 Kai snoozing. There were lots of visitors, so Team R&B did the best they could to educate them all.

While on site they saw a Manta Ray, and lots of Dolphins were out there for hours.

Making another stop they spotted a fat seal on its side. They weren't sure until it flipped and they saw the tags. There was Leina RL70. She was tucked in the rocks enjoying her girl time alone.

At another west side location they saw two seals together. The bigger seal entered the water, looking back at the smaller one. The smaller seal was ID'd as RP84 Pe'ekai, and the larger seal was RH32 Kaale.  It was as if Kaale wanted Pe'ekai to join him to go look for food. But the kid didn't budge, he stayed in his spot.

Needless to say they were happy to see their boy Pe'ekai since it had

been four days. He looked a little fatter today, so maybe he found some good eats in the last few days.

At another site they once again spotted two seals. These two were snoozing together on the rocks. The larger seal at this site was RG28 Lefty in a shallow pond.  Next to him was little dude formerly known as L7 male from Molokai.  L7 has a permanent number: R07M
