October 7, 2024 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:43 to 2:41 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
Between 3BS and SRI was molting seal that Marilyn is labeling R7AF: subadult size, medium gray male belly, two red tags and about 50% molted.  Seems the SF1 from yesterday was in fact R7AF. Most of the ventral has molted as well as the dorsal neck area.
Again near the surge channel of RRB was a sub-adult female: sub-adult size, older coat with a light gray female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B started their day at the bay where they were happy to find Miss Kala RH76. It's been a couple of days since they had seen her. They were relieved to see her resting in the morning.
On their recheck in the afternoon she was gone.

Their next stop at tracks they found two seals together resting on the rocks. RL20 Kalua was whooping, not sure why, but he was reacting something.
Next to him was a fat seal and they could not determine if it was a male or female so it was reported as an unknown adult.

They got word of a seal at Nimitz again so they went to check. Once again there was RH92 Nalani on shore. She was somewhat alert as there were people around. Signs were put up by the Life Guards.
When they walked away they saw RH92 get hit by a big wave. She rolled, rolled to enter the water and swam away.  Team R&B took down the signs and returned them to the Lifeguards.

They backtracked to pokai searching for seals. When they got to the area they spotted a green seal hauling up on shore on rest-camp side. They saw five kids bothering the seal just as it got there, one kid got a huge rock. They spoke with the MPs as they drove out to the area and he went with them.
The seal was R3CX Nalu on shore and the kids took off. To say the least it was nerve-wracking.

Last stop at yoks where they found Kainoa RN04. his N4 was visible.
Then they saw a smaller male below him with red tags. They couldn't read the tags, but did see a big scar on his lower back. They know they have seen him before, but couldn't remember when. He was labeled as an unknown male.
