Posse pal Kathy was surprised this morning when she was walking the beach to come across two seals. They were still there this evening at 6:30 pm. They didn't move much just over to the next cove. She wasn't able to get any ID other than one of the seals had an adhesive patch on its back. One tag was broken and wasn't able to see the other tag. So until there is confirmation both seals were reported as U/U unknown unidentified.
Team R&B started their day at the bay and finally spotted a seal on the rocks. There was RH32 Kaale looking quite large and green.
They also found Miss Kala RH76 alone and resting. Then two tourist arrived and Team R&B heard something and went to check on it. The tourist were by the seals probably trying to get them to move. When the tourist realized they were being watched they reacted and Team R&B did their best to educate them. It seemed they were only interested in getting their photo.
Meanwhile Team R&B spotted another seal below. It was a male, couldn't see any tags, very green and large. They suspect it might be R617.
While still on site they kept hearing a seal vocalizing. They looked and listened for where the barks were coming from. Then they spotted him it was RL20 Kalua. He is still molting and looking like a mess. He kept opening his mouth and they could see the fur coming off. Overall he was not a happy camper.
Then much to their surprise still watching there was another seal clean with scars and two red tags. They wondered if this is RL12 Aukai, and get a shot of its tag L13. Its been quite a while since she been in the area. They were hoping she would land, but it didn't happen.
Another seal was with Aukai and they were able to ID R3CX Nalu.
Heading over to Kahe Team R&B found two seal swimming and fighting. There were snorkelers in the area. They ID'd the two seal as RM31 Kai and RP30 Puka.
