Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:54 to 3:09 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time. Another seal party.
On the back Lanikai side of LPB was weaner RT90 Manapua. His tannish male belly and two red tags were visible.
On the Makapuu side of 1BS were four seals:
Weaner RT19: weaner size, light gold male belly and two red tags.
R416 Makali'i: subadult size, new coat, light male belly and distinctive ventral scars no tags.
RT19 and R7AF entered the water and started playing. Later they were joined by R416 and moved back and forth in the shore wash. Later they hauled out closer to the 2BS and went into snooze mode.
RN04 Kainoa: large adult size, old coat, dark brown male belly, no visible tags, applied N4 bleach. (Kainoa was born on Rabbit ISland 3/13/2013. He was Sadie's first pup.) He has started his molt on his mid-chest area, no more than 5%. Unfortunately he will lose his N4 bleach.
Between 1BS and 2BS was RK24 Bruno: adult size, new coat, gray male belly, two red tags and a scar on his lower lip.
Closer to 2BS was a Sub-adult Female: small sub-adult size, new coat, light female belly and two red tags. The three boys did show up in the water in front of her.
One of the employees at the pier shared a video he had taken this morning. The video showed weaner RT62 swimming next to the pier. RT62 Ka'iwa is RJ30 Wailea's pup who was born on Moku Nui in June 2024. She has an applied N22 bleach which is readily visible in the video.
Team R&B started their day at pokai where they didn't see any seals. But they did hear some bellowing and they went looking. They spotted RL20 Kalua off the rocks, mouth wide opened vocalizing. Poor boy needs a companion.
He would join two more seals by the rest-camp side.
Later in the day, he came back and hauled out alone at the zen area.
They waited and finally saw the Unknown Male came in and landed on the rocks. The U/M stayed there all day and has started his molt.
Team R&B went over to the rest-camp side and there were multiple seals. This is always a challenge to get IDs when they are multiple seals in the water. They were able to ID RH48 Lei Ola and R3CX Nalu.
The fishers were out and spotted the seals. They probably got some good photos.
Going back to rest-camp side they found Lei Ola RH48 had hauled out and was alone.
They happen to look over at rest-camp side and saw Nalu R3CX was hauling out.
On their third visit they found the Unknown Male was still there. He is slowly molting.
