October 1, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 2:22 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
When she first arrived there was only one seal on shore. Between 1BS and 2BS was a small seal that she believes to be weaner RT19: small size, light male, belly and two red tags. He seems a little smaller than she expected.
A short time later two seals hauled out between 3BS and SRI:
Weaner RT90 Manapua: large weaner size, light male belly and two red tags.
Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, older coat, greenish-brown male belly and two red tags.
At 1:54 pm the S/M entered the water while RT90 stayed on shore.
At 2:03 pm, the S/M hauled out to RT19. A very short time later an Adult Male joined RT19 and the S/M/ The A/M was adult size, dark
gray male belly and two red tags. Then shortly after the three seals entered the water and moved in the Makapuu direction. Marilyn lost site of them.

Team R&B started their day at Pokau where there were two seals. RM31 Kai was resting on the left side. Then there was Kala RH76 alone on the edge of the rocks.

They spotted two seal foraging close to shore by the camp. The sealswere fighting at times. They identified the greenish adult seal as Nalu R3CX and the large seal with a clean coat as RH48 Lei Ola.
They also spotted  turtle with its head above the water.

Next they saw a very large female at guardrails. They could see she had tags but really didn't show  much else. They did see she had white nails, and that when they realized it was RL70 Leina. She is looking
fat and beautiful. They were thrilled to see her since its been a long time.

Let's just say Team R&B had a fantastic seal day. Their next stop at Kahe they spotted RL20 Kalua on the rocks. What really delighted them was next to him was RK72 Kekoa Alii who they haven't seen in quite some time. He is looking green and a healthy weight. They could see the burlap and glue from the sat tag are still on his body.

They were also treated with the dolphins at play and spotting the turtles onshore from afar.
