Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 2:48 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
On LPB was a Sub-adult Female #1: The seal appears about 40% molted, subadult size, older coat on dorsal, now medium gray on molted ventral and two red tags. (Marilyn originally thought this was R7AF)
Sub-adult Female #2: subadult size, older coat with gray green ventral, female belly and two red tags.
Weaner RT19: regular weaner size, tow red tags, cream-colored male belly.
Marilyn also noted there were some new tracks on the dunes between 1BS and 2BS. She believes they are from turtles.
Team R&B started their day at pokai. They had seen a seal foraging from afar so they went to observe and discovered it was RH48 Lei Ola foraging alone in the school of fish.
They met up with a lady they have known and they all watched Lei Ola together noting the ways to identify her. She is one fat momma at this point foraging everyday and gaining lots of weight.
Suddenly they spotted a second seal after observing Lei Ola for an hour. This seal with its greenish coat came rushing in, and they were able to ID R3CX Nalu. They were out there together foraging in the school of fish. Two kayaks came in were fishing in the school of fish. Both seals weren't happy as they moved to the right then to left.
On their next stop at Kahe the found RL20 Kalua. He was alone on the rocks resting.
Team R&B got a call from a friend about a seal onshore at Nimitz. They decided to check it out but it took forever to get there. Finally when they arrived they were happy the seal was still there. There was RH92 Nalani ID'd by her tag, scar on her head, and the star-burst scar on her under belly.
