Today's dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Lesley and Team R&B💕. Lesley sent updates from Saturday and Sunday, please see part 2 and part 3.
SIDE NOTE: Carola wishes her boy Holokai a very Happy 6th Birthday! RG40.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:45 to 2:00 today. Once again it was just P04 Manana little weaner on island during her observations. Unfortunately there were three people on island which is infuriating that anyone makes there way out there. A couple of them were close to P04 but she did not react to any of them. She was in one of the sandy patches in the middle cliff area mostly in snooze mode.
Team R&B were out bright and early searching for seals at the bay. They saw one briefly, hurrying out by the ocean side of the jetty, they were never able to get an ID. On their second check of the area they saw the green foraging machine RL20 Kalua. There were lots of folks on paddle boards as usual. One interesting spotting was a manta ray swimming in the area.
From there Team R&B checked another west side location and only found Miss Kala RH76 alone on
lower rocks. At another location they spotted a thin seal on shore. When they arrived they ID'd RW22 Kolohe snoozing. They have known him for 13 years now and over the years he's been a pretty big boy. Today he seems to be looking a little thin and he still has the wound on his snout. We all hope he's okay.
Over at the cliffs they found RN14 Kalani on the rocks snoozing alone. He hardly moved at all and they didn't want to bring attention to his location so they left.
They decided to take the hike out to Kaena West and only found one seal. There were people swimming in the area and the seal was snoozing on the rocks. they were able to ID R3CX Nalu who has been looking a little grubby lately. They couldn't tell for sure but he might be starting his molt.
