Today's dailies are brought to you by Lesley and Team R&B💕. Lesley's busy Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.
Team R&B had quite an interesting day! Yes they did see three seals, but before that there was lots of excitement. Most of you may have seen on the news of a plane that went down in the water on the west side. Team R&B like taking photos of vintage planes, and they heard one flying over this morning. So camera clicking they noticed the pilot was looking to the right and left and the plane was flying low. They knew something was wrong. They saw it going down from a 1/2 mile away. They got in the car and hurried over. At this point the plane had already sank, and the pilot swam over to shore. He was amazingly okay and no one was hurt, he did what he had to do. Team R&B showed their photos to the lifeguards and HPD asked for copies and HFD used them for their incident report. Team R&B got a call from the news and shared their photos as well as being interviewed. Sad that a vintage plane went down but thankfully he was an experienced pilot who did everything causing no harm to anyone. WHEW!!!
Back to the business of seals. They spotted two seals foraging in a large school of Akule off shore. They
were able to ID RL20 Kalua the very green looking one. There was another with him with a nice clean coat and clean snout. They could not get an ID.To finish their day they were thrilled to find two seal on shore. There was RL42 Leia with RN14 Kalani on the rocks. Kalani was staying very close to her, at one point it looked like she was ready to dump him. But Kalani was sweet and rolled next to her. Nice way to end a very hectic day out on the beaches.
