Marilyn did the Ka'ena treck with Lesley this morning and they found nine critters. Marilyn finally made her way to the east side after battling endless traffic. She viewed Rabbit Island from 2:30 to 4:10 pm. There were three seals on Rabbit Island today.
At 2:45 about 60 feet Lanikai side of the 2BS was a weaner size seal, which Marilyn thought might be P04. But once the seal changed position she saw the NB on the LFF, her light female belly and two tags. So this weaner ID'd as RP24 Mohala aka P01. She later entered the water after a small catamaran anchored not too far from her. She initially appeared to swim towards the boat, but Marilyn lost track of her.
Between the 3BS and SRI was an apparently weaned P04. Marilyn never saw RL12 Aukai today. So it
At SRI was an unknown subadult female (USF) with an older coat, light female belly with some green and two tags. This seal might also have a scar on the right chin area.
Team R&B once again continue to find RL20 Kalua foraging. This kid is really stocking up. There were five kayaks, lots of swimmers and paddle boarders. RL20 is looking greener than ever, he seems to keep his eyes close while foraging. Hopefully he'll haul out someday soon.
Team R&B were on there way back when they happen upon their final find of the day. At another west side location there was RL70 Leina snoozing on the lower rocks alone. I guess the skies opened up and they got soaked. They took a couple of quick photos and called it a day.
