Today's dailies are brought to you by Lesley, Marilyn and Team R&B💕. WE would like to wish all the Dad's human and otherwise, and all the single Moms dad, a very Happy Fathers Day.
Team R&B did all their usual checks and came up with a big zero! Finally at the outfall there was a seal foraging, then it left heading towards tracks. They watched as the seal kept passing people in the water. Most people were very aware of the big seal's presence. Team R&B ID'd RH32 Kaa'le, of course they were delighted to see him, its been a little while.
Kaale landed at tracks area, and there were lots of people. Seemed they all had to go up to him to get
Marilyn had a better day viewing Rabbit Island between 11:40 am to 1:30 pm. There were four seals on island today. One of them was a social butterfly visiting the other three.
On the Lanikai side of the 2BS was a UJM, unidentified juvenile size, male belly with an older coat and two tags. He was minding his own business when he was visited by an unidentified male.
Near the 3BS was weaner P04 Manana, it's official since Aukai was no where to be seen. P04 has a weaner coloration and sized body. The grayish female belly, her roto tag on her RRF and no NB. She kept herself busy with rocks and twigs. She entered the water just after 11:40 and hauled out near middle cliff fifteen later. She was then visited by the U/M. When he left, she followed him into the water, but he soon ditched her. She then hauled out again, this time near the 3BS where she played for a bit and then went into snooze mode.
When Marilyn started viewing there were two seals at SRI. Marilyn identified subadult female RK37 Huia (Sadie's 2018 pup). She was ID'd by her NB on her lower rear left side, yellowish female belly with some green and two tags. Marilyn thinks she was there yesterday.
Joining RK37 was the U/M adult size, dark male belly and at least one tag. He left RK37 to enter the water, 15 minutes later he hauled out near P04. Then he entered the water again and went to visit the UJM for a few minutes. This dude is on the move, he entered the water again only to go full circle and hauled out again near RK37.
