Team Billand found RH92 at 6:30 this morning. This is day 4 of her hanging out at the canal. Unfortunately this is not good especially with all the rain. I hope she finds a better place to hang out soon.
At 6:45 Team Billand went to check the outfall. When they got to the site they saw a seal zooming by in the outfall, green snout, red tags, clean body, no markers. This critter was not interested in stealing any fish from the fishermen. They determined this was Lei Ola RH48 catching her own fish, going from the center to the right then back to the middle. They even watched her chomping down a couple of fish. She's a smart one, the fishermen were appreciative she wasn't stealing their catch.
Next find for Team Billand was at a Westside beach about 9:15 am. They were surprised to see all types of debris and trash there. Up on high rocks to the left was Kekoa Alii RK72 all alone.
Team Billand removed all the crap not wanting it to end up in the water. They managed this in the rain, rising surface, and humidity, all while watching for any additional critters.
Late afternoon they spotted a seal sleeping on the rocks at another westside location. They turned in to check it out and discovered Kawena RH36 all alone. They sat for a while to see if she would move, but she was sleeping just fine. I guess she likes to nap on rainy days too.
