September 18, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:56 to 3:02 pm and there were eight seals seen on island today.

Out on Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:

Sub-adult Male: sub-adult to adult size, new coat, male belly and two red tags and

Juvenile Female 1: large juvenile to small sub-adult size, female belly and two ref tags.

On the berm of LPB nearer the 1BS were initially two weaners:

Weaner Unknown 1: small weaner size, at least two red tags, not sure about sex probably male, and

Weaner Unknown 2: small weaner size, light belly unsure of sex and at least two red tags.

Later what Marilyn believes was RV76 joined the two weaners: RV76 was large weaner size, two red tags and light female belly.

On the LPB shore down from the 1BS was an adult to sub-adult seal, male belly, old coat, not sure about tags.

Down from the 3BS were two seals:

Juvenile Female 2: larger juvenile size, old coat with lots of green and two red tags, and

Adult Female: adult size, new coat, female belly, and two red tags.

Team R&B started their day on the west side. They spent time

studying the ocean and spotted two seals on the rest cam side. They were getting ready to head that way, but right in front of them was Kala RH76 so well hidden. Then as they studied her photo they saw there was a seal next to her. It was RM31 Kai both blended in so well.

All of sudden RM31 went nuts, stretching, looking around, barking and snorting. All the grunting and barking was due to another seal. It was R617 arriving, but he saw and heard RM31 racket and he just stayed where he was. But every time he moved, RM31 kept barking, so R617 left. He went around the rocks and popped up at the zen area alone.

To their surprise at rest camp on the rocks/sand was RP28 Wakea. He moved up on top of the jetty and went to sleep. They suspect he's going to molt any day.

There were two seals foraging at rest camp. They were able to ID Lei Ola RH48. Along with Lei Ola was a young sub-adult seal. Not sure of tags, but has a clean coat, young face.

Over at the outfall they spotted a green adult seal, but couldn't make an ID. They also saw a small green seal foraging further out off the outfall area. And then there was a 3rd seal that had a clean coat and adult size. Needless to say they felt frustrated unable to get any IDs.
