As a side note Diane and I checked Rabbit Island and were skunked, not a flipper in sight.
At a west side location Team R&B found RP84 Pe'ekai on lower rocks. He was alone in the early morning.
On their afternoon check he was still there alone.
Their next stop they waited and waited for something. Finally they spotted a seal on the rocks. It was fat boy Kaale RH32. He was not bothering any seal buddies because he was alone.
Last find of the day, Team R&B returned to check on Pe'ekai. Along with the little cutie they found the beautiful Lei Ola RH48. She was at seal inlet snoozing. He new coat just sparkles in the sun.
Melody was at the Waikiki Aquarium for a White Tern event, celebrating their new chick! After the event she checked the nearby shorelines. Sure enough she found Miss Kaiwi snoozing by her favorite wall. She stayed for quite a while until the waves started washing over her. Then she turned over and within minutes headed out. As she was leaving she snorted a big good-bye as seen in one of the photos.
ALSO if you didn't see it on the news or on social media, check out these four monk seals riding the waves into the shore on the west side Oahu. Enjoy the clip.
