06/24/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Tammy, Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:55 to 2:25 and there were Mom and Pup pairs.
They were both on LPB and it took Marilyn a bit to figure out who was who. She ultimately decided the pair more Lanikai side was MO6.
Marilyn observed  PO6 nursed several time and then PO6 nuzzled next to MO6 for a snooze.
At one point PO7 started to the water by itself, then returned to MO7. It appears PO7 is larger than PO6 even though it is a day younger.

Tammy went out to Ka'ena Point and met up with Lesley. Their first stop was to see Mauna RQ24.
They watched as he chased and plated with something. It looked like a bit of algae that he had in his mouth. They went down to another beach and found an adult male. Both Lesley and Tammy saw a few markers but could not make a positive ID. The seal was reported as an unidentified unknown UU.
Next they found RG40 Holokai. They spotted a seal swim up on him and bark, turn out it was Ka'ena RO40. Ka'ena then swam to main pond and hung out there for a bit. They saw a seal approach and some barking ensued between the two. The seal turned out to be Squinty R330. They saw that one of the boys had left and the other settled in.
Tammy commented that todays was like boys day, they didn't have any females around at all.

Team R&B were treated to lots of dolphins at play during their first stop. On of the calves has a big cookie cutter bite.
As they were waiting they spotted a seal with a green snout, flying by in a hurry. It was RH32 Kaale, he just kept going never slowed down.
Suddenly they noticed folks getting excited so they look and there were three seals fighting. One was butthead Kaale RH32, RL20 Kalua and the other was a large seal.
They saw RL20 on the rocks, he was alone.  Kaale was gone Then out of nowhere a huge female came in the area, trying to haul up on the rocks. The waves were hitting, but finally she hauled out. It was the beautiful KG54 Huakai.  She landed across from RL20, he didn't do anything.

At another west side location they found the little RP30 Puka. Seems his big brother wasn't around today.

Then from afar they thought they saw two seals on shore at the mound.
They got to the area and sure enough there was RL42 Leia in the company of RN14 Kalani. Both were snoozing  peacefully. People were out and about and thankfully no one bothered the seals.  There was one loose dog running around, but the owners called the dog back and all was good.
