Team R&B made an early trip out to Makua and all they saw were dolphins. Based on their photos it was well worth the trip.
They made another stop and found their first seal of the day. There on the rocks was Lei Ola RH48 resting peacefully. Her new coat looks lovely and she seems quite content.
Arriving at another location, they studied the area and saw a greenseal. It was RL20 Kalua on the rocks alone. They got word that the dogs in the area attacked a person yesterday. The person was walking and was bitten on the calf. Such a shame. The dogs came out a couple of time while Team R&B were there. They saw the dogs chase people in the parking area. Thankfully RL20 was okay while they were there.
At another west side location they spotted a cute little male. RP30 Puka was resting way inland. A wave came in and he moved to the water after he pooped.
Then he came up on the rocks after more waves got the best of him. He is so green, small male and looking healthy.
Next they went over to the cliffs, and spent time studying the rocks and the ocean and didn't see any critters. Funny because right there in the open was RL70 Leina. She didn't move much but they saw her tag and her scars.
Lastly they decided to do the Ka'ena West trek since it was open. They only found one seal and were grateful to see R3CX Nalu. They saw his tag, and his neck and chest pattern confirmed his ID.
He was alone and resting. Its been a while since they have seen him back on the west side.
