Team R&B started their day watching the dolphins and of course all the people in the water. While watching the dolphins they see a seal swimming and heading to the rocks. There was Kaale RH32 and he seemed cautious about landing. He kept looking around and finally galumphed up on his spot.
They arrived at their next stop and found Lei Ola RH48 alone on therocks. There were some boys who came by and did a chant (loud). Lei Ola began to galumph down, she was looking over to the boys and could hear them. The boys finished and left the site, and Lei Ola reamained.
When they did their afternoon recheck, Lei was still there. She was very dry and well hidden in the rocks.
Their last find of the day hauled up on the rocks. They saw the big cyst on the right rear side and they knew it was RL08. He is getting very green, seems that happens to a lot of the seals in this area.
Kaale was still on the rocks and not too far from RL08.
Marilyn is back just in time for all the fun on Rabbit Island. She viewed the island today 1:05 to 2:55 and there were six seals.
On LPB was MomO7 and pup PO7. We're now thinking MomO7 is probably RL12 Auaki, but won't be confirmed until NOAA can get on island. For much of Marilyn's viewing PO7 was hidden behind Mom. PO7 did make several quick appearances around Mom's head.
About 20 feet Lanikai side of the 1BS was MomO6 and he pup PO6. MomO6 hardly moved duringMarilyn's viewing time. She had her head pointed to the water and her rear flippers were not visible. PO6 seems quite active while Mom is not. It will be interesting to know who this Mom turns out to be.
On the rock flats fronting SRI were two seals:
A/M: adult size, dark gray male belly and not sure about tags.
Marilyn also saw the Masked Booby Chick at the rop of the ridge with many Red-Tailed Tropic Birds flying nearby.
