Team Billand found Kawika R407 at 6:15 am high up on shore, where he was yesterday. They did a recheck in the afternoon just before 2 pm and he was still there. He may have gone for a swim, but was still in the same general area.
While observing Kawika they spotted a big green seal on shore sleeping across at another beach. The surfer dude said the seal had just arrived. Team Billand ID'd RN14 Kalani. He left and they never saw him again today.
Team Billand headed over to the bay and spent from 8:45 to noon watching four critters foraging. There
were already paddle boarders, swimmers and boats out. They ID'd RH48 Lei Ola first (formerly our mystery green face critter). She was going back and forth between the boats and paddlers. Then they spotted RH32 Kaale hanging arounf the jetty and further out. The third critter was ID'd as R3CX Nalu who was more interested in staying close to Lei Ola. They were surprised to see Aukai RL12 out there for the first time. There were a lot of fishers out there this morning, seals were busy foraging. Volunteer Melina was there today as well as another volunteer on a kayak.Team Billand left the bay and went to check other locations. At 1:15 they found RL20 Kalua resting in his little pond. He looks good no new hooks just the old one. They were expecting him to be really fat with all the foraging he's been doing but he's not, looking healthy but not over weight. He's still a young'en.
Team Billand's last find of the day was just before 2 pm. When they arrived there was RG28 Lefty on shore. There were lots of people out but he was okay no one bothering him. The waves came in and he moved higher up on shore. All was good.
