10/10/2020 Saturday (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Update

 This is another 2 in 1 report for the blog.

Yesterday morning started as every morning checking our front beach.

There was R330 Squinty on D21of his staycation  he overnighted and spent the day

Heading to the point I saw RW02 PVKauai on a beach sleeping peacefully despite the number of people checking in on him. He spent the day in the same spot.

At the point RO40 Ka'ena was in a tide pool, RL98 Lina in another, she was funny her butt sticking out and her head under water blowing bubbles. Further on RL74 Kami was on some reefs bellie up beaming like a flashlight in her new coat.

This morning I had the pleasure to have 2 dear friends and volunteers back !!! 

The day started off on a great tone having them then spotting R303 BG with R330 Squinty on our from step. BG left months ago about to pop (perhaps in Niihau?), two days ago I checked in to know if she had been seen the answer came back: negative. So what a pleasant surprise it was.

We then made are way to the point. on the way we saw little RL98 Lina sleeping peacefully among some rocks. We were skunked at the point and on our way back found RO40 Ka'ena hauled out on a beach we hadn't checked on our way in.  More soon - be safe
