Sorry about the technical difficulties last night, but here is Team Billand's update from Saturday 10/3.
They found RG28 Lefty sleeping on the rocks. All his cookie scars were visible along with his natural bleach flipper and tag. On the next check he was still there snoozing.
The highlight of the day was RH76 Kala seen on water front rocks sleeping alone. She is looking very healthy, and spotless. On their final check she was still there on her back enjoying the sun. This is another one of our Rabbit Island critters making her way to the west side.
Early morning they found Kaale at the outfall doing his thing. Later they spotted him with another
critter but they were too far to make an ID. On their later check they found Kaale had hauled out at a nearby beach and was alone. Also early morning they spotted two seals swimming past the jetty heading for one of the beaches. They headed over and found Aukai RL12 with Kawika R407. They landed by the trees where there are lots of people. They called the hotline hoping someone would come out. Team Billand did a recheck and there were lots of people no sign that anyone had come out.
Team Billand found RL70 Leina back at the seal inlet snoozing alone. She remained in this spot most of the day. Later she moved to the shallow pond.
On their afternoon check they found Kolohe RW22. He was on lower rocks snoozing alone. He is looking very green and large.
