September 30, 2024 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:51 to 2:54 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
Initially alone near 3BS was weaner RT90 Manapua: chubby weaner size, older coat, light male belly and two red tags.
At 1:40 pm two additional seals hauled out to RT90, the newcomers:
Unknown Sub-adult: sub-adult size, old brown coat and brown
ventral, not sure about tags or sex.
Unknown Adult: adult size, darker gray coat, two red tags, not sure about sex.
The U/S went around behind RT90 and then sort of herded that latter into the water. The UA seemed to have words with the U/S and then they all headed back in the water about 1:45 pm. Marilyn saw all three in the water "playing" for about 15 minutes and then they all disappeared.

Team R&B started their day at the bay and found Miss Kala RH76 alone up on the rocks.   There were a few people taking her photo being respectable.
They spotted two seals foraging near the kayak at the camp. One green, and one with a clean coat. They couldn't make an ID and their photos were too blurry.
The dolphins were out. One of them looked like it had a double fin, but it may be split from a wound.

After checking other sites, they returned to pokai. Kala RH76 had moved to upper rocks and had a good hiding spot. Now there was a seal with a nice clean coat on the
rocks. They were happy to see it was RM31 Kai.
Suddenly a green male seal comes up and sees RM31 Kai. He immediately galumphed up to him and never saw Kala. Kai RM31 barked at him, he whooped, moved and entered the small ponds and starting rolling around over and over. Then the waves hit him good and he took off. They ID'd the green male as Nalu R3CX.
