12/11/2022 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 to 2:45 and there were three seals on island today.
When she first arrived there was only one seal.
Subadult Male almost directly down from the 1BS. Subadult size, light gray male belly and two red tags.
At 1:05 Marilyn noticed another seal had joined up with the S/M.  It appears the seal came down from somewhere in the higher dunes because the seal was dry. Juvenile Female, larger juvenile size, tannish yellow female belly and two red tags.
Just as she was doing her last scan of the island, Marilyn noticed an Unknown Adult had hauled out on the beach below the damaged 3BS. The U/A was adult size with two red tags, unknown gender. Marilyn stayed a little longer than planned hoping to get more on this critter, but it didn't happen.

Team R&B first stop and saw a seal from a distance. Far off there was the seal and a dude with a surf board with a motor. The seal was in the water foraging. They waited to see if the seal would haul out, but it just kept foraging. The seal looks to be adult size, but they just couldn't tell.  They had nothing to go on so they left. It is being reported as an Unidentified Unknown

Next they went to another west side location. When they arrived they were thrilled to see Lefty RG28. He was on the rocks, alone resting peacefully. Happy he is out of the KoOlina area.

They were checking out the dolphins at the bay, there were so many. Of course the dolphins put on a great show, to the delight of the people who had gathered.
They found Nalu R3CX on the rocks resting. There were a few times he seemed agitated at least very aware of the people jumping off the rocks. He eventually moved further into the rocks and hid.

Last stop they had to look closely at thee rocks and found a seal hidden. It did a really good job, making getting a photo and ID really difficult. Officially seal labeled U/U but it could be RQ24 since he was there yesterday.
Then there were the whales!  Quite a day !
