12/30/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Melody and Team R&B💕. It appears they crossed paths at one point in the day. The more the merrier!

Melody was with her friend Diana and decided to end the year on a nice seal note. They did some beach sleuthing to look for seals. Initially they weren't having much luck, so they decided to take the Kaena West Trek.
They has been in touch with Team R&B to update them on where
they had been and where they were heading.  A little ways into the trek they asked some folks if they had seen any seals, and the folks were all to happy to let them know there were two in the park.  Off they went and about a mile or so they came across P30 Puka. His white belly lit up the rocks like a neon sign. He wasn't too forthcoming with a tag shot, but finally did flash it long enough to get one shot.
They continued further along the trail and Diana spotted RO40 Kaena snoozing in the tidepools.
After finding Kaena they headed back to the car.
Heading home they got word that Aukai was at a beach on their way, so they stopped. They only stayed for a minute, she was in a SRA and snoozing away. The girl is looking big.

Team R&B headed out and the waves were huge at electric beach, and there were still people out there snorkeling. The dolphins were out.  They saw Nalu R3CX haul up on shore same spot as previous days, but higher up. Of course the people came, a dog showed up and Nalu began to roll to the water. That was his cue to leave and he did.
They stuck around, waited and Nalu came right back, landed higher up by a woman sleeping on shore. The dog came back began barking at the seal.  Other people were showing up and Nalu just stayed. They called the hotline.

Next they headed over to secrets to find RN14 Kalani all the way up by the bushes. Someone had put
out five signs with ropes (wasn't them) but it was good to see someone took the time. They called the hotline. At 10:55 a second seal passed by heading to paradise cove, but they couldn't be sure who it was.
Volunteer left to see if the seal arrived at paradise cove and Team R&B stayed with RN14 until noon. They headed over to the cove and sure enough there was Aukai Rl2 on shore. Signs were up and volunteer on site.

Heading over to another west side location they were thrilled to find three seals.  There was RW02 near playboy pond, with RG28 next to him in the middle. Then there was
RM31 fast asleep to the side of Lefty.

Team R&B made the hike out to Kaena West and found lots of folks leaving. (It was getting on in the day). They came across Kaena and Puka just as Melody did earlier.   They also spent the time and watched the whales as well as catching a beautiful sunset to share!
