Team R&B started out where they have found multiple seals lately. Sure enough there was RN14 Kalani way up high near Naupaka. They were going to get the signs, but a guy came with one and put it right near the seal, then he left. Team R&B moved the one sign back further, and they anticipated another seal will arrive.
They were right, next seal was Kekoa Alii RK72 who went straight over to RN14. There was no reaction from Kalani so, Kekoa moved to his spot on the rocks, making himself comfortable.
Just as they put out more signs, another seal was coming in fast. It was RG28 Lefty who landed had a few words with Kekoa and then went right to sleep.
Team R&B called the hotline twice, educated folks to stay behind the signs especially with three seals on shore. A couple of folks just ran into the water and RG28 did not like it.
As a side note Kalani RN14 might be beginning his molt.
At one point while watching the dolphins having fun, they spotted a seal coming by, but it didn't land. And then it was gone, they could not make an ID so it was reported as an U/U.
Next stop they spotted a seal snoozing between the rocks. They studied the animal, it just wouldn't move. Finally they saw the tag Q24. It was RQ24 Mauna.
There were two men hanging out drinking. They never approached the sleeping seal.
Then there were five people came rushing over to the seal. The two men ran over to them and told them to leave the seal to rest. That was the highlight of the day!!! Team R&B much appreciated it.
Then they spotted a handsome male snoozing in a little pond. He had a clean coat, like a newly molted coat, it was Kaena! They saw his scar on top of his head, small natural bleach spot. After awhile he flipped over and they saw his CC scar on his back.
After a while they saw some movement below them. It was RL70 Leina, looking so clean and healthy. Her tags were visible which made for an easy ID.
