They were out on this beautiful day. They saw whales out there just spouting. They also noticed there were Portuguese Man of War on the shores. They took it upon themselves to collect them so no one would get hurt. (one of the many reasons I love these two). They informed the tourist to be careful.
When they first arrived there were no seals, no wallows, no trails, but they stuck around.
Then shortly after they heard a familiar sound, a seal sneeze. Theyturned and saw RN14 Kalani coming in fast. They ran to get the signs and call the hotline. They stood by to educate people.
Kalani is 50% molted, he is done up to his sides and beginning of his back.
A volunteer arrived at noon, so Team R&B headed out.
As they were educating folks, they spotted RH32 Kaale coming in fast. (seems the boys were all in a hurry today). He turned and hauled up on the rocks. Team R&B adjusted the signs further back to cover him as well. There were still some folks that just walked right in the area until Team R&B pointed out the seal and asked them to move away. The claim, they didn't see the seal.
While talking story about monk seals, a third seal hauled in. It was RG28 Lefty, who went up to RN14. There were a couple of whoops but the two ended up resting peacefully. Needless to say the tourist were excited. For Team R&B, one of their favorite things is watching the seals arrive.
Team R&B hit up the other locations and came up empty. They took a picture of the valley, which shows how lucky we live Hawaii.
