Team Billand spotted two unknowns foraging at Campbells. They saw the first seal doing 7 minute dives, but then noticed after getting mixed readying of up and down dives, that there were two seals.
They were there for an hour trying to ID the seals with no luck. What they know is both are adults, and one "might" be Kekoa RK72 based on his bumps.
Upon arrival at Nanakuli, they see people on shore running with cell phones in hand, two children and two adults. Team Billand tried to get down on shore to see what was happening (they already knew).
They see a seal RH32 Kaale in the water on shoreline. There are footprints all around the area, and the parents suggested the kids ran the seal off. hmmmm.... Poor Kaale left the site and they did not see him for the rest of the day.
Next stop was to a Leeward Beach were the first seal they see is N1 (Rip RR70) up on the top rocks, sleeping alone. Team Billand waited a bit and spotted two seals fighting and foraging off shore. The first of those two to come in RN14 Kalani. He came charging in vocalizing, mouth wide open and loud. He then makes a turn goes to the small caves, still vocalizing until he decided to haul up on high rock with Rip. They fight for the water hole, Rip wins, and Kalani goes on the rocks and sleeps. Rip falls asleep in the water hole for the rest of the day.
Team Billand spots another seal coming in from off shore. He is ID'd tags RW02 PvKauai. He hauled up to the right and remains alone all day. Barbara noted, RW02 is a cool seal, quiet stays to himself, a gentleman and is buddies with Kaale.
Gayle's only find today was two critters on Rabbit Island. They appear to be sub-adult to adult size.
