03/24/2021 Wednesday Monk Seal Dailies

The rain today put a damper on things, although there were a couple of ducks out there enjoying the weather. You could actually see the weather coming their way.

Ka'ale RH32 was found on the rocks and then the skies opened up. The area filled up so quickly they had to leave to not get stuck in the flood.

Lefty RG28 was at the water front rocks snoozing or at least trying to. The tide came up pretty fast and

he wasn't very happy.  Team R&B did notice another seal but it took off and stayed off shore foraging.

Heading over to another west side location it was still raining but they hung out hoping the seals would come. Here comes da Benny RE74 hauling up on the rocks. A couple of guys came up and got close, took a few pictures, Benny was very aware of their presence. Looks like Benny has a small piece of his hind flipper missing.  Another seal came up behind Benny, it was small and very green. Team R&B got a look at the tag and was thrilled to see RL20 Kalua. He's small and very green but looking okay.

Team R&B left the area but returned in the pouring rain. They wanted to go back and check on RL20 who there were sooooo happy to find see him again.  They were also concerned because there was a net out by RL20 and RL70 Leina who was now hanging out with him. RL70 moved up and wacked RL20 by accident which startled him  RL70 Leina finally settled in and the two green beans got some rest.

Uncle Benny was close by and gave the young ones some space. Good Uncle.
