03/17/2021 Wednesday Monk Seal Dailies

 

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team T&D and Team R&B💕. 

Team T&D hiked Ka'ena point today and met up with Lesley at the NAR. Their first find was Kami RL74 who was resting. Question is she really resting comfortably.  Next critter was Luana RN58.  When they got to the point they found RL98 Lina and RW02 PvKauai.  Spring break was definitely here, there were lot more people both locals and visitors.

Team R&B started at the outfall and of course their first seal was

RH32 Kaale. He was foraging and stealing fish from the fishermen.  Guess they are use to having this bugger around.  Then Team R&B saw another seal, it was RH92 Nalani. Ka'ale lost interest in food and immediately sniffed her and chased her over to the other side. They were together for hours well I guess Kaale is all grown up now going after the females.  There was a third seal that popped up briefly. It was RG28 Lefty and he did not stick around.

Team R&B left and headed over to a nearby location. Seems Lefty RG28 decided to haul up and rest here and RN14 Kalani was hanging out with him.

At another west side location they found R3CU on the rocks snoozing. He seems fine, moving around okay and on occasion scratching himself with his fore flipper. 

Finally they headed over to checkout the bay and found Nalu R3CX on the rocks snoozing alone.
