Today's dailies are brought to you by Lesley, Team R&B and yours truly. Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.
I only have a brief update to Rabbit Island observations. I do have photos from Monday finally downloaded. I did make a very quick stop today while in the neighborhood. Mom and pup were the only critters I spotted today. It was good to see they had moved from directly in front of the blue sign to the left closer to the rocks. I did observe one brief feeding while I was there.
Team R&B began their morning with Kaale RH32 pigging out at the outfall buffet. After his belly was
full he disappeared just like that. They later found him on a nearby shore snoozing on the rocks alone. One of the homeless guys asked them how far away he needs to be, they told him 50 ft is recommended. His response was oh, well they come and try to feed the seals. ??what?? Team R&B tried to get an answer from him but he didn't say.Next stop at another west side location they spotted a little seal hauling up on lower rocks. It was RL70 Leina, she makes her way up and settled in for the day. RH76 Kala was mid rocks near seal inlet, she was also snoozing on her side and looking very dry. Then there was da Benny RE74 who came hauling up on water front rocks. He is looking good and healthy nice weight. The boy is getting old, some battle scars but over all seems fine.
Team R&B headed to another location and when they arrived they saw a little male on the rocks looking very green. Then they realized with much excitement this was Kai RM31/30 born in 2020. Its been a while since anyone laid eyes on him so this was a great find. He is in good condition, small and green.
Across from Kai was Nalu R3CX sound a sleep. Nice to see them together again.
Then to make the day even more special there was RL42 Leia snoozing the day away at the cliffs. She is looking chubby and it was nice to know her 2020 pup Kai was not too far away.
