03/18/2021 Thursday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

Their first find was Lefty RG28 on shore at tacks. They did their best to make a zone and called the hotline.  They stayed for quite awhile and did their best to educate people. While there they got to see the spinner dolphins at play and then what they thought was a turtle turned out to be a Manta Ray. After a few hours a woman approached them to say there was another seal way down by the rocks.

Of course they went to check it out. All the way down by the very end

there was Ka'ale RH32.  While they were confirming his ID a man jumped in the water and Ka'ale got spooked and swam off after the guy was splashing water at him. Team R&B called the hotline to report the incident.

Team R&B did find Ka'ale at the outfall having a few snacks. He didn't stay long and was then headed for tracks.  They got to seem him with Lefty RG28 hanging out together.  They called the hotline to update. By noontime they gave up and left to check on other locations.

They soon found RN14 Kalani with another seal at another location. It was RW22 Kolohe which they almost missed him to the right of the rocks.

At another west side location they found two seals when they arrived. They were both chilling on the rocks.  They were the Kauai boys R3CU and R3CX.  R3CU was back on the rocks, they could not see his wound on his chest because he was facing the ocean. Good news he got himself up on the rocks. He looks good as far as his body weight and doesn't seem to be stressing.  Across from him was R3CX Nalu snoozing peacefully.
