03/19/2021 Friday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

First thing this morning Team R&B found Lefty RG28 already hauled up on shore at tracks. He was snoozing and resting peacefully.  They called the hotline, put up a zone the best they could and waited. Volunteers arrived, no signs were placed, so Team R&B pulled out their poles and waited to see if another seal would arrive. After waiting and no other critters arriving they left.

Kaale was seen in the outfall briefly and then he headed out. He landed at a near by shoreline looked over to a fisherman with a huge pole, Kaale paused and then left. Now he was heading in Lefty's direction. Unfortunately Team R&B did not see him for the rest of the day.

While they were keeping an eye on Kaale they noticed another seal landing by Lefty RG28. It was

RN14 Kalani, so they headed back to check in on the boys. Kalani and Lefty had a few words and then settled down together.

Next stop to another west side location they were happy to find R3CU for the 4th day in a row. They got to see how well his wound is healing. They also got to observe some of his behavior and he is moving around just fine.  To his right was the other Kauai boy Nalu R3CX. He was snoozing in peace on the rocks. He was very cooperative today exposing his NB on left side of his head.

Team R&B made one last stop for the day and got lucky. They found Leia RL42 who was very dry and fat. They did not stay so that her location would be safe.
