Anissa was on Turtle watch today when she came across these two unknowns. A beautiful sight of a honu and Hawaiian monk seal napping together.
Team Billand found RF28 just before 9 am on the west side. He was alone snoozing with his V28 applied bleach in full view.
It wasn't over because a little green goblin came into the area near lower rocks. RL20 Kalua stayed on the lower rocks with the waves hitting him.
When Team Billand to the east side they went to check a few spots and saw a seal roped off with volunteers on site. RN06 was high up and still getting hit by waves. He is a big 7 year old male. He has a natural bleach and has markers on top of his neck area that made for a positive ID.
So it seems Nohea has been keeping out of sight for a couple of days as expected when weaners go exploring. She looks good, starting to lose a little baby fat, very alert and healthy. A zone was set up around her and Team Billand left for home.
Gayle shared some pics of a UU she came across today on the east side. There seem to be a very light natural bleach mark on the right side, not any scars or other markers other than being a wee bit green.
A few of us joined Marilyn today and spent a brief moment checking out Rabbit Island. There were four critters on Island today.

The other two seals were the weaners PO1 Kahukai and PO3 Momona together near seal rock inlet SRI. They were ID'd by weaner size and coloration, male bellies and no tags. PO3 doesnt' seem quite as portly as before.
Marilyn did go and check on Nohea later in the afternoon.
