Melody went to check on Ms. Kaiwi today who is about 65% molted. Kaiwi spent a lot of time rubbing herself on the cement wall and the tree trunks getting some of that dead skin off. Poor thing must be really itchy. It was another busy day at the beach lots of people with lots of questions.
Team Billand found RF28 at 7:30 am on the rocks snoozing alone on the west side. While checking him out they saw some dolphins pass by, no boats, no people just dolphins.
About an hour later they found Ka'ale RH32 at the outfall doing his thing, eating as many fish as possible. While watching him they noticed two more seals across at another beach.
Team Billand immediately went to check it out and found RL12 Aukai who is very green.
Along with Aukai there was Nalu R3CX. This might be his first visit at this location. The waves were hitting Aukai so she headed up the beach and Nalu was close behind.
Team Billand called the hotline and waited for a volunteer to arrive. When he arrived they filled him on Ka'ale foraging at the outfall.
At 12:30 they returned to check on Aukai and Nalu and now Ka'ale had joined them. Ka'ale was being vocal with Nalu. When the waves were coming in Nalu moved up followed by Ka'ale . They had words but no fights.
They found RL20 Kalua inland and snoozing on his own and RF28 was no longer in the area.
Lastly late afternoon they went to check another west side location and spotted two seals. They walked way out to see who the critters were. It turned out to be RL42 Leia and RN14 Kalani together.
Then there was a third seal beyond them. They kept going to check it out and found RG28 Lefty. He is looking mighty mighty green. He was in deep snooze mode. Nice way to end the day.
