Jan 11, 2019 Part 2 of the Dailies: Lesley's Ka'ena Update

Tammy & I went out together to monitor KPt. It was an absolutely beautiful morning but not a drop of wind. The ocean was gorgeous but the air was still
Our only seal was a very healthy and plump RL12 "Aukai" - she may have overnighted on Back Beach. Her trails were all the way up near the Naupaka line.
We wonder where she goes when she disappears... inter island... or some hidden cove where all those other seals go to.

We walked around and got to see an albatross parent change on a nest. We looked around but didn't "Black Foot" that Black Footed Albatross we spotted last Saturday and was banded on Wednesday.
Whales were cruising. At one point Tammy said what was that noise we turned around saw the end of a breach followed by lots of tail slapping.
The pod of whales were heading towards Mokuleia side so we got to see them several times.

I noticed I "forgot" to send a report on Monday when I saw RN30 near the Runway at KPt.

More tomorrow
