Team Billand arrived at the westside beach where there is usually a party going on and today did not disappoint. Upon arrival they spot multiple critters. First two already up on rocks, Kekoa Alii RK72 and RN14 Kalani. Kekoa was to the right but then galumphed up to Kalani and then critter number three arrives. RIP RR70 hauls up and joins the boys. All three fight for spots a bit then settle in, RIP went to the right.
The next to arrive was Kawena followed by the very enthusiastic mature Kolohe RW22. Kawena tried to move from him, and he put his hind flippers on her mid body to stop her. So there they stayed side by side on lower rocks.
While checking on all the critters that hauled out Team Billand spotted a critter doing five minute sives off shore. They spotted a ding on the lower back with a bleach spot, it looks like R3CU but the seal never hauled out and they could not confirm for sure.
However this is typical behavior for him spends about a half hour foraging but doesn't land.
Team Billand left the site to check on a couple of other spots. At one spot they were surprised to see two seals together on the rocks. The real surprise was when they looked to see a little brown seal and confirmed tags RK88/89 Puna. Right by him was Lei Ola RH48 with her hind flippers on him. It seems as though she wanted him to stay. So far this is the furthest Team Billand has seen Puna. They look pretty darn cute.
