Todays dailies are brought to you by Team Billand. Apparently there is something that is bringing the critters to the westside. Especially the boys and their gatherings.Team Billand went out to plains and watched the sunrise, then continued there journey. They spotted signs and ropes up at the beach but no seals, so they took everything down, so it wouldn't get washed out.
After leaving plains they stopped by nimitz and found Pohaku RO28 at 730 this morning. She was snoozing high up by the grass. Sound asleep and no one around for the moment, in that there are usually lots of dog walkers about. Team Billand left to check the other beaches. Their next stop was Nanakuli and found RW02 PvKauai on shore sleeping alone. They notified the hotline to inform. Team Billand headed out to continue their search.
They ID'd RK72 Kekoa Alii and RN14 Kalani together. All the way left was a big seal, RIP RR70, same spot as yesterday. While watching over the three seals, Team Billand got a call of a seal by a wall near the housing area. Rob went over to look and found volunteer Melina who was with Benny RE74. He was way up and snoozing, this was a spot Team Billand frequented a lot in the old days and use to find 2AW and R018.... but it's been a while.
Barb was still with the three seals, RIP, Kekoa and Kalani when she noticed another seal foraging off shore. She lost sight of the it and then to her surprise it landed. So here is RW02 PvKauai who made his way from Nanakuli.
Then by 2 pm Team Billand found seal number five, once again a party of five! It was Ka'ale RH32 with RN14 Kalani and RW02 on the rocks. All the boys hanging out together and for the moment peacefully.
