2/6/2018 Monk Seal Dailies (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Point Update

After so much rain the last couple of days it was a beautiful morning.

I hiked out to Ka'ena checking all the coves and rain damage. First seal I found was R3CU at the entrance of Ka'ena's Pool.

R330 Squinty was in the Main Pool freshly hauled out on the reef island. Did some whale watching with visitors while doing Q&A outreach.

Some visitors told they saw 2 seals playing in the water half way in, I checked every know nook and came up on RO40 "Ka'ena" hauled out @ Hidden Beach.

Went on looking for the 2nd seal but didn't see him.

I have been checking Birth Beach twice a day but haven't seen any trails.

Made it on time just before the first big drops started.
