Lesley and Tammy trekked out to Ka'ena Point today so their adventure will be detailed in part 2 of the dailies.
Gayle spotted four critters on Rabbit Island today. Still windy and cold on the east side, Gayle made a good point that if she was one of these seals, she'd be snuggling up with the other guy. (No Kidding!) Then again they have a couple extra layers of fat to keep them warm.
Team Billand found Benny out on the west side and he was not alone. There was a group of people getting too close to him for that cute photo, when Team Billand immediately began lesson Seal 101. In the end they got the message, just a shame people feel the need to get that close!
Turns out Melody ended up visiting with Benny later in the day and got some nice pictures of da Benny.
Team Billand checking in at another area on the Westside they were informed by two homeless guys that have known them for many years that there were 4 seals nearby. They went down to look and there they were four seals fighting, and rolling around on the shore. They called the hotline immediately as they didn't have any signs to put out. Meanwhile they had to get all the folks who were trying to get a closer look to stand back. Team Billand identified Kekoa RK72, Kaale RH32, Kalani RN14 did most of the interaction and PvKauai RW02 was quiet. A volunteer arrived and Team Billand left to check other sites.
