2/22/2018 Monk Seal Dailies: (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Point Update

Back on the rock and off to monitor Ka’ena Pt with Jaime before the storm.
After checking CE & Birth Beach I joined her and we headed out.
First find was RN58 “Luana” @ 10 Mints Beach we are 3 past my birth prediction (wishful thinking) and she is still hanging in there. Beautiful, plump and heathy.
At the point we spotted RO40 “Ka’ena” freshly hauled out at the entrance of his pool.
In the Main Pool RN14 “Molokai” and “R3CU” were on the center reef island. both seals have a lot of "playing" bites on their coats. R3CU face wound has healed nicely, it's looking dry and clean.
To the side of the pool RR70 “Rip” showing off his N1 bleach. Nice to be able to do outreach using bleach IDs again.

On our way back RN58 “Luana” was still resting on the beach.
