2/5/2018 Monk Seal Dailies: Lei Ola RH48, Kekoa RK72, Kalani RN14, PvKauai RW02, Buster V08, Rabbit Island Critter & Right Spot R016

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Gayle. Thank you both for braving the rains.

Team Billand started there day with an unusual find at Paradise cove this morning. They made some phone calls and hopefully someone (DLNR) will be able to help out. They found a 60 foot long log or tree, the radius approx. 24 inches. They also notified security at Paradise Cove. The log was covered with hundreds of gooseneck barnicles.  If that wasn't enough they also spotted a couple of funnel clouds.

On a Leeward Beach they spotted a seal with a nice coat and a hook left corner of it's mouth (hmm wonder who that could be) Lei Ola RH48, resting alone on the high rocks. She appears nice and comfortable, in no stress or pain, looking beautiful.

Next they saw a seal coming in slow looking around and hauling up on the lower rocks. Kekoa RK72 remained there for the day. Barbara noted she was most relieved he seems to be just fine after his fall yesterday, all seems normal (whew!).
Next up was Kalani RN14 he came right in hauled up next to Kekoa. But eventually would relocate to the left side with RW02 PvKauai came in next.
PvKauai RW02 hauled up on lower rock and settled in. But when Kalani RN14 awoke he went next to PvKauai and they began to have words. For some reason they got on each other nerves, finally Kalani passed by and PvKauai vocalized a bit more then everyone settled down for the day.

Team Billand got a call that Buster was at White Plains and was sent some photos, unfortunately they were unable to send the photos and were already home so they didn't respond.

Gayle spotted on critter on Rabbit Island  (at least she believes the blob that wasn't there in the morning and there in the afternoon is a seal)
Gayle also found Right Spot R016 and happy to see was laying on her left side. At 17:15 she logged in the water for about a minute and then she just took off within a minute.  She swam really fast out of the area, so fast she was unable to determine which direction she went.
