Although very bad weather was on the forecast Tammy & I did the Ka’ena Pt monitoring this morning. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day.
At the point we found 2 seals entering the Main Pool: RO40 “Ka’ena” who hauled out immediately on the reef island and RR70 “Rip” who spend most of the morning in hippo mode.
RN14 “Molokai” was half way down Back Beach.
RN14 Molokai made it down to the water and swam around to the Main Pool.
It took him a while to get RO40 “Ka’ena” attention. Both started a splashing session with some barks. Senior RR70 “Rip” kept an eye on them but didn’t get involved.
As they were making their way towards to exit of the pool, RR70 “Rip” sneaked up on them. More barks and splashing. RO40 “Ka’ena” and RN14 “Molokai” Swam out playing, we followed them all around towards Back Beach then they went on towards the Waianae side. RR70 “Rip” took claim of the reef island and was still here when we left.
