HMMA Update from August 30th

At 0816 Marilyn checked in from Alan Davis with a report of Kawena (RH36) swimming in the tidepools near her birth beach. Kawena eventually swam out to deeper water and Marilyn lost sight of her. At 0845 Gayle checked in with a report of Kawena back on the beach within the SPZ. Jon was there as well. At 1055 a report came in about a seal at Lanai Lookout. No ID could be made. Later DB reported seeing Kolohe (RW22) in the same area. Colleen checked in at 1246 with a report of Kaiwi (RK96) at the Outrigger Canoe Club. Steve also responded. Colleen checked in at 2030 to report Kaiwi was no longer present. At 1557 Carola checked in with a report of Ka'ale (RH32) on the rocks east of the Mokuleia pup site. At 1900 Carola checked in again to report Ka'ale no longer in the area. She noted footprints nearby. At 1650 Carola reported 2 seals at 10 Minute Beach. Identification was made with some help from DB. BG (R303) was ID'ed by cc scar on her back and RK36 was ID'ed by the line scar behind right fore flipper. At 1745 a report came in about a seal at Lagoon 2 at Koolina. No ID could be made at the initial sighting.
