At 0935 Marilyn checked in from Alan Davis with a report of Kawena (RH36) was sleeping 100 ft. from the Alan Davis wall. At 0946 a report came in at the Doris Duke Estate sleeping on the stairs. No ID could be made at the time of sighting. At 1027 a report came in about a seal at North Beach, MCBH. No further word at this time. At 1100 a report came in via email about an unknown seal at Cromwell Beach. Another email report from Melanie came in about a seal at
Cromwell's China Walls. The seal was later ID'ed as Buster (RV08) with a small wound on the left side of his muzzle. NOAA was advised. At 1501 a report came in about a seal at Turtle Bay at Kaihalulu Beach. Karen T responded and ID'ed Holokai (RG40). At 1533 a report came in about a seal hauled out in front of Camp Mokuleia. No further word on the seal's ID.
Sara checked in via email with a report of Kawena (RH36) outside of the SPZ. The pup was undisturbed by people in the area.
Nicole checked in via email with a report of Kawena (RH36) about 50 feet from the Alan Davis wall. Kawena remained in the tide pools at the end of Nicole's shift.
Karen T. checked in via email with a report of Holokai (RG40) at Kaihalulu Beach. She provided some photos of Holokai. She even had the opportunity to do out reach with some keiki on the beach who someday become future HMMA volunteers.
