HMMA Update from August 21st

At 0749 a report came in about a seal at Paradise Cove. Chrissy responded and ID'ed Pohaku (RO28) by tag 028. Pohaku would depart the beach at 1345. At 0810 a report came in about a small seal hauled out at Sandy Beach. Marilyn responded and ID'ed Kawena (RH36) by tags H36/H37. At 1400 a report came in about a seal hauled out in front of the Turtle Bay Hotel. No ID could be made. At 1544 a report came in about a seal hauled out at Makaha Beach. No ID could be made. Lusi checked in via email from Mokuleia. When she arrived Ka'ale wasn't around.

Lusi searched the area until about 1000. There was no sign of Ka'ale so Lusi went to Turtle Bay to check on PO5. When Lusi arrived PO5 just hauled out. Lusi checked Elbow Beach as well, but there were no seals. She walked back to PO5's birth beach and noticed foot prints inside the SPZ. Lusi provided outreach to 7 people in the area. When she departed PO5 remained sleeping.
