HMMA..Update..From..August..24th

The morning began with a report of Pohaku(RO28) at Paradise Cove at 0625. Barbara made the initial ID. Robyn checked in at 1730 reporting Pohaku's departure. Karen T. checked in at 1015 from Turtle Bay with a report of PO5. PO5 departed into the water not long after the initial report. At 1132 Melissa and Jon checked in with a report of Kawena (RH36) at Alan Davis. At 1600 a report came in about a seal at Iroquois Point. No ID could be made. Carola checked in at 1710 from Mokuleia with a report of Luana (RN58) and BG (R303).

 Melina checked in via email following her shift with Pohaku at Paradise Cove. Melina arrived at noon, prior to her arrival, Terry stopped by to check on Pohaku and make sure the signs were set up. Melina stayed with Pohaku until 1515. Robyn took the next shift. Zuli stopped by to check on Pohaku as well. Pohaku basked in the sun and occasionally dunked her head in the water. She took a short swim and then hauled back out. She rested well. Robin remained with Pohaku.

 Diane checked in via email from Turtle Bay. Diane and Karen T. were on PO5 duty. Diane reported that PO5 is really exploring the pool and reef area.

 Carola check in via email from Mokuleia. Carola ID'ed Luana by tag N59. Luana woke up due to a disturbance and left the beach at 1845. Carola noted 2 line scars on the top of Luana's head. BG was hauled out approx. 50 ft. away from Luana. The seals did not appear to notice one another. Carola reports that BG started her molt. BG moved closer to the water line but remained sleeping when Carola left at 1900.
